Birth Stories…

Told by Haven Doula

I decided to share the birth stories of my fabulous clients here because I believe there is so much value in hearing about real experiences. These stories offer a glimpse into the kind of practice I hold, the way I support families, and what you might expect when working with me as your birth doula.

More than anything, I hope they bring a human element to my work. Every birth is unique, every family has their own story, and every journey deserves to be honoured. By sharing these experiences, I hope you can get a better sense of my approach, my values, and the kind of support I offer and help you decide whether I might be the right person to walk alongside you and be part of your birth team.

This is a birth story about R and N. This birth story begins with R’s water breaking on October 11th 2025 at home. Rita felt a little gush of water and thought, “Oh is that my water breaking?” however there really wasn’t allot of water so she wasn’t sure if it was that. She had very early labour throughout the night, however by very early morning she was very uncomfortable and having trouble coping through the contractions so R and N decided to call their midwife who suggested they head over to the birth center to get assesed and see if they were in active labour and able to stay. So at 5:30 am they headed over to the Birth Center. The midwife assesed them upon arrival at the birth center and confirmed R was already at 5 centimeters so they were lead into one of the Birth Center’s birth rooms. I joined N amd R at the birth center and I prepared the room with candles, soft lighting and their favourite music playlist. I also strated essential oils for aroma therapy and brought out my birth tools. At the birth center we did try so many different things to help R
